Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 29, 2026
Thank you for visiting our website and supporting our grassroots cause. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect and use your information.
Information We Collect
When you join our mailing list, send us a message, or request a yard sign, we may collect the following personal information:
• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Mailing or street address
• The neighborhood or area you tell us you live in, or that you tell us is affected by the proposed annexation
• The number of yard signs you request, and the pickup arrangements we make with you
Which of these we collect depends on what you are asking us to do. Joining the mailing list needs only an email address; a yard-sign request needs enough contact detail for us to arrange a pickup. We do not take payment through this website — the $10 yard-sign contribution is collected in person at pickup, so we never receive or store card or bank details.
We do not collect sensitive personal information, nor do we knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Send you newsletters, updates, and campaign alerts
• Inform you about events, volunteer opportunities, or advocacy efforts
• Reply to questions and messages you send us
• Arrange yard-sign pickups and keep track of which signs have been requested
• Understand which neighborhoods and areas are affected, so that we can describe the community impact accurately to the City and to LAFCO
When we describe community impact publicly or in written comments, we report it in aggregate — for example, how many households on a given street have contacted us. We do not publish your name, address, or contact details without asking you first.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
Hosting and Data Storage
This website is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare Pages, a U.S.-based hosting provider. The website itself does not run a database and does not store form submissions. Information you send us is delivered to our email provider and kept in the mailbox for info@protectruralescondido.com.
Cookies and Analytics
We may use cookies and simple analytics to better understand how visitors interact with our website. These tools do not collect personally identifiable information and are used only to improve site performance and user experience.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.
Your Rights Under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:
• Right to Know – You can request to know what personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete – You can request that we delete any personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Non-Discrimination – You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@protectruralescondido.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
Data Security and Breach Notification
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will:
• Promptly assess and contain the incident
• Notify affected users in accordance with California Civil Code § 1798.82
• Take corrective actions as required by law
