Take Action

Four things you can do this week that actually move the needle.

Note: Donations made through the petition platform go directly to the platform, not Protect Rural Escondido.

Add your signature to show your support and protect rural unincorporated Escondido from the proposed annexation and high density development. It takes under a minute and sends a clear message to local leaders.

Speak at a Hearing

Public comment goes on the record and gets cited in final California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) recommendations. You get three minutes, and you do not need to be an expert — you need to live here.

Volunteer Your Time

Whether you have an hour a week or a specific skill to share — planning, engineering, design, door-knocking — your involvement makes the movement stronger.

Fund the Fight

Contributions fund research, planning consultants, and community outreach. Every dollar goes directly toward the preservation effort.

Make a Donation

Request a Yard Sign

Put a No Annexation sign up on your street. Signs are $10, paid in cash when you collect it — there is no online payment. Send us your name, the street or neighborhood you are on, and how many signs you need, and we will arrange a pickup.

How to Participate

Find Your Meeting

Identify the meeting where your neighborhood or specific concern will be discussed on the agenda.

Share Your Story

Register at the podium or online before the session begins to reserve your 3-minute public comment window.

Bring Your Neighbors

There is strength in numbers. A crowded room of advocates is the most powerful signal to decision-makers.

Yard signs make the opposition visible

A street with signs on it reads very differently to a decision-maker than a street without them. The signs carry the campaign name, the Birch and Idaho rural neighborhoods, and a code that brings people back to this site.

Each sign is $10, collected in cash at pickup. We are deliberately not running an online payment portal — the $10 covers printing, and handing the sign over in person is how we meet most of our neighbors. Use the request button above and we will get back to you with a pickup time.
